The Pursuit of God by A. W. Tozer
I have read this book twice already, and I have my own copy. That should tell you what I think of this literary masterpiece! If you are hungry for a closer relationship with the Master, I could not recommend many books higher than this one.
Allow me the pleasure of giving you a 'sneak-peek" at a few of the chapter headings; "The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing," "The Universal Presence," "The Speaking Voice" and "The Gaze of the Soul", just to whet your Christian appetite. Tozer doesn't attempt to impress you with his Doctorate of Theology, but it's virtually impossible to not be impressed with his writing. This man goes deep! Not so "deep" that you get lost in unknown territory, but you are guaranteed new territory. He leaves the beaten path and takes us to God's territory by continually coaxing you onward and gently holding your hand.
I caught this book "On Sale" for $5.00 at Christian Book Distributors, and I would be very pleased to order more if you want one. I promise you cannot grasp it all on the first read, and if you do, loan it to someone. You will be very guilty of sowing good seed.
