In His Steps by Charles M. Sheldon
The pastor of a growing church in Mt. Sterling, called Living Water, asked me if I had ever read a book titled In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. I asked what it was about. He replied, "Ever heard of the expression W.W.J.D. (what would Jesus do)?" A "tip of the hat" to our pastor, for he certainly picked a winner. I would put it in the top 5 books I have read! Thank you Pastor Grant!
The pastor of a small country church came to address his congregation with an extremely heavy heart. He confessed that he had not led the life he should be leading, and the only perfect life ever lead was by Jesus Christ. As he had planned for this Sunday's sermon, he continually was given the thought of what would Jesus do? In today's world, which obviously is very different from the Jesus era, when life's decisions are to be made, can a man do hat Jesus would have done, and what would that action have been? He asked for volunteers to join him in a one year trial, regardless of the monetary or social implications, and do what Jesus would do. The surprises are unending, the story is wonderful, and the reading pleasure is guaranteed.
