Beautiful Outlaw by John Eldredge
You probably haven't thought of Jesus being an outlaw, have you? Beautiful, sure, and most of us agree that we could go so far as to say "most beautiful," but I feel a choking sensation when I try to call Him an outlaw. John Eldredge paints a perfect ( or really close) picture of a human acting Savior coexisting with fellow humans. And, like all humans, we tend to disagree, especially on Politics and Religion...not to be discussed at dinner unless indigestion is your goal. In Jesus' case, the explosive mix was already in place, and He stepped right in the middle of it by challenging the "powers-that-be." Yes, an arrest was inevitable, Court called to session (kangaroo???), but jail, or anywhere else couldn't hold Him! This is very well written from an unusual perspective and a really good read.
